+# Sherlock Holmes Research Document
+
+I want to set out to answer the question, "when was Sherlock Holmes published", knowing that the answer should be
+multiple dates and potentially multiple dates for individual stories if installments were released over time.
+
+I'd like to get answers to these questions, but I'd also like for them to be corroborated in multiple ways before I
+present them as facts on my site. If I can find at least 3 distinct sources of the information that I can consider
+valid, then I'll post it.
+
+## The Dates
+Acceptable Date Justifications:
+- In Publication (IP): On the document containing the work itself (this is like the gold standard).
+- Earliest Newspaper Advertisement (ENA): The argument being that the clipping is valid from a given newspaper on a given date from a trustworthy source and that it's the earliest a layman at the time would've been likely to see it and also that if it's advertised it must be available.
+- Unverified Trusted Source (UTS): Something like a bibliography or a physical book being used as a justification which I haven't independently verified.
