This is a blog that I’ve wanted to start for a long time! I create it with two goals in mind. First, I want to jot down and share my thoughts about movies as I have them. I normally have a pretty clear opinion about movies right after I watch them, but then cannot remember clearly all the little things I was thinking after about a week. I hope to use this blog to track those ideas while they’re still fresh.

You may have noticed that my ratings for movies on this site don’t line up with other sites. In some cases, my rating may not line up exactly with my full opinion of the movie. That’s because I’m not rating the quality of the movie directly. I’m rating how strongly I recommend you watch the movie.

This is why something I absolutely loved, for example The French Dispatch, is given less than 5/5. While I think that movie is great, it is not necessarily a film that I think everyone will enjoy. My ratings can be thought of as follows:
